Why was IPN established? IPN was created to foster leadership development, continuing education, member recognition, and networking among nurses in the area. IPN fosters connections among nurses, and helps them to sustain their enthusiasm and passion for nursing.

Why should I join IPN? Connections and networking are critical to professional development. IPN provides opportunities for that development, including collaboration, education, and mentoring, to name a few. IPN sponsors continuing education programs that have a reputation for excellence as well as fun. Membership entitles you to a discounted program fee for all IPN programs. What types of nurses join IPN? Any and every nurse can join IPN, from nurses providing direct care to top leadership. Whether you are a seasoned nurse, new graduate, entrepreneur, retired, or working in a specialty area, all are welcome in IPN.

Could membership in IPN be recognized as my professional association for career advancement such as a clinical ladder? Yes, IPN is a professional nursing association. Its members come from a wide variety of backgrounds, including academic faculty, staff nurses, charge nurses, clinical specialists, nursing educators, researchers, advanced practice nurses, and nurse managers.

Can I join IPN if I am a student? Only licensed RN’s can join IPN as full members.

Where are IPN meetings and programs held? IPN currently meets quarterly and provides semi-annual programs in locations within the Ann Arbor area. As the organization grows and membership expands, activities will be held in other areas. Meeting notices are posted on the IPN website calendar.

How can I be involved in IPN? There are numerous avenues of participation in IPN. Members can attend in-person meetings, serve on program or recognition committees, network by email, or participate in conference calls on specific topics.

How much does it cost to join IPN? The cost of membership is $30.00 per year for regular RN members. Annual memberships expire on Dec. 31st each year.

Is membership in IPN tax deductible? Yes, IPN is a non-profit 501c3 organization. Membership dues are tax deductible as a professional expense.
